Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Jenny Bedford is a Nyinyi Jaru and Kija woman from Halls Creek with more than 25 years of experience working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector across WA, NSW and the NT, including 9 years in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health. She has also held roles in government, including with the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Attorney-General’s Department. Jenny has served as the Deputy CEO of KAMS since 2021. Before this, she was the Executive Manager, Remote Services at KAMS, where she led the integration of the ACCHS Model of Care across remote health centres in Balgo, Beagle Bay, Bidyadanga, Billiluna and Mulan.

Throughout her career, Jenny has been deeply committed to working alongside remote Aboriginal communities to improve health and wellbeing outcomes. She is passionate about supporting staff to grow and develop, mentoring the next generation of leaders at KAMS, and creating pathways for Aboriginal staff to step into leadership roles.

Jenny currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Aboriginal Regional Governance Group (ARGG), and the Kimberley Aboriginal Youth Wellbeing Steering Committee (KAYWSC), She is a member of the Aboriginal Advisory Council of WA, and is the remote health representative on the First Nations Health Governance Group. She is also actively involved in national reform efforts under the National Health Reform Agreement, contributing to strengthening Aboriginal community control and improving mainstream health system accountability.
